棉花题，关于北美17-18世纪棉花出口的。第一段写棉花占美国出口比重大 (后面第一题：主题题，选cotton became important in USA.)。然后写棉花机器提高了那种烂棉花的生产，提高了cotton woven的技术，解决了手工操作很难的问题等。最后提到密西西比河，是说这块地区还可以作为其他作物的生产基地。（最后一题：有选A的：是没有人开垦过的资源之一。也有人答案：虽然土地很肥沃但没有人在那里定居？）
 
后面还有一题：美国cotton优势在哪？选longer fibers。
 
1、main idea----cotton是十八到十九世纪美国最大的出口品。
2、以下哪个“不是”cotton is preferred to wool的原因选----shortage of wool 。
